Ways to SaveIf an Energy Trust trade ally contractor installs your windows, he or she can help you apply for the following incentives and tax credits. Windows must be installed together with a second complete energy saving improvement. Both improvements must be installed within 120 days of each other; the incentive application must be received within this time as well. Thermal upgrades (attic/ceiling insulation, floor insulation, or wall insulation) must meet all program specifications and requirements to qualify as a second complete measure. How to Apply for Energy Trust IncentivesFollow these easy steps to get cash back for your energy-saving windows: Step 1 - Establish your eligibility. Oregon residential customers who heat their homes with energy from Portland General Electric, Pacific Power, NW Natural or Cascade Natural Gas are eligible to participate. Homes that heat with oil, propane, kerosene, butane or wood can conduct their own energy audit and apply for cash rebates for installed weatherization measures through the Oregon Department of Energy's SHOW (State Home Oil Weatherization) program. If you are eligible, you may schedule a FREE Home Energy Review to identify energy saving opportunities in your home. Or, consider a Home Performance with ENERGY STAR assessment for comprehensive recommendations. Step 2 - Select a contractor to install your windows. A Cut Above Exteriors approved windows and professional window installation qualify for Energy Trust of Oregon's window program. Step 3 - Select your second energy saving improvement and have it installed within 120 days of your window installation. Step 4 - Sign and submit your incentive application.
